The core of our laboratory's drug screening platform lies in mimicking the real-world interactions between drugs and human cells ex vivo. We directly utilize cell populations isolated from autologous peripheral blood as testing targets, including T cells (responsible for cellular immunity), Natural Killer (NK) cells (which immediately recognize and lyse diseased cells), Omnipotent Monocytes (OPMs, possessing multipotent repair potential), and Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs, serving as clinical indicators for cancer metastasis monitoring).
By introducing various candidate compounds into these specific cell populations, we can precisely observe the biological effects exerted by each agent across different cell types. On one hand, we search for drug components capable of promoting growth and activation to enhance the activity of immune cells and multipotent repair cells, thereby providing technical support for cell therapy and regenerative medicine. On the other hand, we focus on screening compounds that effectively inhibit cell growth to precisely target circulating tumor cells and halt cancer dissemination. This comprehensive screening model offers crucial data support for personalized precision medicine in clinical practice.
